Mizani is one of the leading hair care lines originally developed for people of color. The L’Oréal-owned line features high-quality products that are only available in approved salons and beauty supply distributors.

The products were developed in 1991 by Soft-Sheen and Redken on the principle that there needs to be a balance between moisture and protein in order to keep hair healthy and maintain its flexibility and strength. It rejuvenates damaged hair and can be used with relaxed, natural, or color-treated hair. The Renew Strength line was intended for users with moderate or severely damaged hair. Its cleanser is fortified with proteins that strengthen weak hair, as well as olive oil to moisturize and protect. Scalp Care helps control the itching and flaking associated with dandruff. It uses 1% pyrithione zinc to eradicate the bacteria that causes the scalp to flake.

PuripHying is a Mizani shampoo that deep-cleans the hair by using an acidic formula that removes dirt and other contaminants, as well as adding moisture and flexibility. It is best suited for hair that is braided or twisted, permanently waved, press and curls, and human-hair weaves.
